What’s your favorite doc cam activity so far?
September 1, 2009So school has started and many of us are using our newest piece of technology in our classrooms, our SMART document cameras. I have used mine constantly since the first day of school and have found it beneficial in modeling expectations for homework, journal writing, etc. I also used it with my Notebook 10 software today to make a comparing numbers worksheet (so I didn’t have to copy it!) an interactive activity on the SMARTBoard without writing on my original. The same objective was achieved, reviewing the less than and greater than symbols (<, >), and the kids were engaged, could check their peers and give feedback all in one quick segment. An organizational tip: I saved the file in a math folder for this unit, so that next year, it’ll be ready to go! Another way I used the cam was to display my students’ triptychs as they presented them to the class. They did these three 4×6 panels to introduce themselves to the class and I’m compiling them into a class photo album. It’s great to see their pictures and embellishemnts on the big screen!
